Ayshe-Mira Yashin (b.2003) is an illustrator and visual artist based in London. She works primarily in the form of visual essays and publications to bring visibility to concealed and underrepresented locations, knowledges and events. Her projects stem from archival and on-site research into current and former military-colonial sites in Cyprus, drawing attention to surveillance infrastructures, reading landscapes and using serendipity as a method of enquiry.
In an ongoing stream of her practice, she creates contributions to the earth-body art genre pioneered by Ana Mendieta, using ritualistically gathered weeds and other earth-bound matter. She frequently collaborates with other artists and researchers by curating collaborative publications and co-facilitating workshops and alternative pedagogical events.
She regularly provides readings with her tarot deck, The Earth Mother Magic Tarot, within queer and feminist communities in London and Cyprus. She prints her tarot decks at Slow + Dirty Press, the feminist community press at House of Annetta.
