Ayshe-Mira Yashin (b.2003) is an illustrator and visual artist based in London. Her practice intertwines matriarchal storytelling with land-based rituals that engage with politically charged sites, taking form in narrative miniature-style prints, hand-bound books and illustrative contributions to the Earth-Body Art genre pioneered by Ana Mendieta.

She regularly provides readings with her handmade tarot deck, The Earth Mother Magic Tarot, within queer and feminist communities.

Six Stories for Solidarity

Project Editor: Deniz Betul Demirdağ
Storytellers: Leandros Farley, Florenza Deniz Incirli, Niki Kohandel, Lujain Tamer-Mansour
This collaborative zine was created in the aftermath of the February 2023  earthquake in Syria/Turkey/Kurdistan, with the intention of fundraising to directly send funds in solidarity with indigenous, feminist and queer communities impacted by the earthquake. The stories were sourced and selected through an open call, and each explore a matriarchal or queer folktale, myth or personal story from the regions impacted by the earthquake and the broader SWANA region.
